Como estava e está previsto a Gripe das Aves transformou-se numa pandemia, para já, felizmente, ainda só ao nível do reino animal, afectando apenas localmente e em número relativamente baixo os indivíduos que mais proximamente lidam com os animais infectados. Na Turquia, a estas horas, já se pode ter iniciado  o último movimento (mutação do vírus) que afectará o homem à escala mundial, 4 a 6 semanas, é o tempo previsto para que o vírus H5N1, com características do vírus da gripe humana normal, se espalhe por todo o mundo. Não vale a pena entrar em pânico, deixar de comer aves (a não ser nas e das zonas afectadas), ou comprar remédios à toa (ainda por cima sem qualquer prova de eficiência), mas tão só estar preparado para se necessário ter máscaras para utilizar, se as coisas dão para o torto vai ser difícil encontrar e não esquecer que a malha da máscara tem de ter um tamanho minúsculo.
